when u treat everyone the same way, you give nobody a sense of feeling special
when u give everyone equitable priorities, you make everyone feel mediocre

Dear team of Starbucks Singapore,
I am a regular customer of the Starbucks coffee chain in Singapore. Like many others, I adore the unique ambience, interior design, warm customer service and the quality coffeee provided by Starbucks.
However, I have always wondered about the absence of a customer loyalty card here in Singapore. This system for rewarding customer loyalty has long been established in numerous other countries, and in my opinion, is a major factor contributing to Starbucks's steadfast market presence in these countries.
Indeed, I do admit that while i am a firm support of the Starbucks chain, I do visit the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf; one major factor of which is their famous customer loyalty card. The additonal benefits given to me with this card on top of their usual drinks is the main reason for my continued patronage at their stores.
Thus, it would indeed be a wish come true for myself, and I believe for many others like me, to have Starbucks Singapore combining the best of both worlds and hence introducing the customer loyalty card here. Singaporeans adore discounts and loyalty cards; I do believe the card will reap an equal, if not greater, success here compared to say the U.S.
Thank you for your kind attention.
Yours Sincerely,
Samuel Peck
a patron at Starbucks Singapore

u often hear about people meeting some special person that crosses their path all of a sudden and totally enlighten them and change the course of their life. behold the en1 ren2. i have always thought this the stuff of motivational books and weird people trying to talk to you randomly and by doing so pull you into christiandom and make themselves matryrs
but well im currently now at the coffee bean and tea leaf outlet of changi aiport terminal 3 and i just met a person who, well, cant be really described as a perosn who totally remapped my life course, but did inspired/motivated me quite a fair bit.
i was just sitting around on the sofa and enjoying my tiramisu cake and cappucino when this indian guy came and asked if the sofa opposite me was taken. as i am a werid autistic person who likes being alone in the airport, of course it was not. thus he sat down.
it was only after some while of shared strangers' silence when he started striking a conversation with me. mind you, prior to this,he struck me as some weird lonely man, just from his appearance alone. he wasnt well dressed.
but then he revealed himself as one heavily involved in the business world; he received a university education in business, and has been to numerous countries both as a businessman and a lecturer. he just returned to singapore after living abroad for 30 or so years. his last job was as a business lecturer at some university in china. he holds specialized knowledge in a wide field from international trade to tourism and hospitality management. and yeah, he earned his first million in his early 30s. totally cant see his wealth from his shabby dressing. he really looked like some random balding indian man that you see walking around randomly.
and after he knew i was a business student he said textbooks are really useless and that he can share with me his practical knowledge and rich experience.
and the way he shared with me bits and pieces of his life experiences, though just a few anecdotal stories, did really inspire me to go out there and experience the world for myself, regardless of the tribulations and turmoils out there.
and he believed in the horoscope. upon knowing that i was a Libra-ian like he was, he instantly said i was like him and will thus know the taste of success in life HAHAHA. and he said Libra-ians are known to be full of creativity and the love of music, which i do have. hahahhaa.
and really, he told me a few stories that collectively are too lengthy to be typed in full here. but it was really, really inspiring and eye-opening.
and he told me we can continue to keep in contact and he could guide me in the area of business. and hes involved in some companies, and knows many contacts too. i think i can smell something on him. not the smell of cologne, but that of internship and opportunity
