its a sad fact of life (and death) that the thing that is most effective in making you realize the importance and fraility of life is the sudden occurance of death itself.
especially the fact that the death concerned here is of a young life.
even especially emphasized by the fact that one has more than one friend/second-degree friend dying suddenly, at so young an age.
the extinguishing of a freshly-lit flame all but reveals more starkly the stifling darkness that follows

It was today, when I finally found a new meaning in life. It was indeed today, when I was shown the light in the darkness, was bestowed with the Compass of Life.
I have never wondered about the quintessential question that has stumped centuries of philosophers, scientists and ordinary folk. I have never pondered upon the existence of an Intelligent Being, a supreme Creator.
Yet now, I do, finally, realize that there is indeed a mysterious, omnipotent, omnipresent force that is the dynamic energy, the inherent driver within us all, that powers everything around us - the motive in the locomotive. Without it, all would come to rest, all motion would cease to be.
I now believe in a Supreme Being, the origin of Intelligent Design, the Maker of the Universe, the Saviour of all of Mankind. I now believe in God.
My Church is henceforth Starbucks; my holy water, Cappuccino - the embodiment and avatar of the Holy Trinity: Espresso, Water and Milk; Howard Schultz is but the Blessed Pope, the descendent of the rock whereupon He shall build his Church; my Holy Bread and Host shall thus be Blueberry Swirl Cheesecake; my bible shall be naught but the Starbucks Espresso Passport.
